Co-authors Norman and Maggie Magowan will relate the story of their epic 35,000 mile motorcycle adventure, told in their new book, Adventures in Yellow

Thursday 08 September 2011
7:30

"Adventures in Yellow" is a heart-warming, humorous and poignant account of an epic 35,500-mile motorcycle journey through the Americas. Abandoning schedules and all sense of time, husband and wife team, Norman and Maggie Magowan, take to their motorcycles and embark on a life-changing adventure. Relishing the role of modern-day drifters, their eyes may be firmly on the terrain, but their ears are ever poised for a good yarn along the way. Their story, as they say in their Northern Irish homeland, is "a cracker"! "Leprechauns to Alaska" covers the remaining leg of their amazing journey, following roads north through the banana republics of Central America.

About the Authors: Norman and Maggie live in Stevenage where Norman is currently the European Consortium Product Assurance Manager for MIRI, one of the 4 instruments scheduled to fly on the James Webb Space Telescope (successor to Hubble). In 2003 they took a break from successful careers to travel the length of the Americas from Chile to Alaska on a pair of BMWs. They spent 15 months and 35,500 smiles chasing a slow road that yielded the website www.panamericanadventure.com and the pair of gripping saddle yarns in the 'Adventures in Yellow' series of books. Norman and Maggie will be bringing the motorbikes they travelled on to David’s
