Multi-Award-Winning, Bestselling Writer and Artist and Author of Charlie and Lola Series, Lauren Child Will Be Signing her New Charlie and Lola Book, One Thing

Thursday 15 September 2016
4:00 pm

Charlie and Lola return in a perfectly funny, perfectly formed picture book that sees top negotiator Lola take on numbers in everyday life and bend them to her endearing and unique will. For the millions of Lauren Child fans, the countdown to One Thing is over!

In the words of Reuben, age 5: ‘Charlie and Lola are going to the shops with
their mummy. Lola asks for just one thing. The book takes you on a number journey. I counted everything on every page. The page with the giant clock is my favourite. My sister liked the page with the birds. I like numbers and I like this book, the pictures are very good and bright.’

Lauren Child is a multi-award-winning, bestselling writer and artist whose books are known and loved the world over. She is the creator of many much-loved characters, including Clarice Bean, Ruby Redfort and Charlie and Lola. Lauren Child is an international ambassador for the excellence of UK illustration. She’s worked with mixed
media, pioneered text as an integral part of illustration and collaborated with artists across different fields. She is a trustee of the recently-formed House of Illustration; she has been awarded an MBE for her work and was appointed as an Artist for Peace by Unesco in 2008. Charlie and Lola was listed in the top 10 Kate Greenaway Medal winners of all time; the themes running through her work have resonance across international borders and generations.
