Monthly Creative Writing Workshop

Monday 21 August 2017
7 pm

A new monthly creative writing workshop which launched at David's Bookshop in June

Writing can be a wonderful and fulfilling creative practice, but it can also be lonely, and writers, like all creatives, can be prone to self doubt and endless critical judgement.

Writers thrive when they have the opportunity to share their experiences, have exposure to different styles and genres and gain access to support from peers and professional writers who offer quality constructive and non judgemental feedback.

The Chapter One creative writing workshop is friendly and all writers will have the opportunity to share their work if they wish, by reading out a short extract of what they’re working on. Or if you prefer just come along, meet new friends and listen.

This aim of this workshop is to empower, motivate and teach you new skills and tools that you can use in your writing to attain a greater sense of achievement and wellbeing in your creative practice.

Each workshop will be facilitated by John Harrigan, who has over twenty eight years of experience working as a writer for theatre and film. His work has been commissioned by Arcola Theatre, the Institute of Contemporary Arts, Secret Cinema and Camden People’s Theatre. He has facilitated arts based workshops for the Royal College of Art, Wilderness Festival, Central School of Speech and Drama and the BBC amongst others and he is a co-founder of the Weaponized imprint, a small press publisher.

Open to writers of all ages 18+ working in all formats and mediums. Spaces are limited. Places cost £7.50, available from Davids Bookshop.

Places for this workshop are very limited.

Running from 7pm to 9pm, on the third Monday of every month

 18/9/17 16/10/17 20/11/17
