“I’m not an anorak. You won’t find anyone shouting louder for the England rugby team at Twickenham. You wouldn’t want to face me in a boxing ring. You couldn’t drag me off the dance floor. But I love birdwatching and I REALLY want you to experience all this, too.” – Matthew Stadlen
In his new book How to See Birds TV and radio presenter Matthew Stadlen offers readers a key with which to unlock the door to a magical world. Written off as the preserve of a nerdy few, birdwatching has in fact already captured the imaginations of millions up and down the country. The excitement of watching and photographing new species can and has transformed the lives of many. Turning back gardens into havens for feeding birds has added to the daily lives of even more. But there are larger numbers still for whom birdwatching is as alien as trainspotting and Matt wants to change that through his words and pictures, to help the reader experience the everyday beauty that surrounds us all.
Matthew Stadlen is a TV and radio presenter, currently leading Britain's conversation with his twice weekly LBC show which is the number one rated in London and can boast a national audience of approaching 200,000 listeners.
