Sylvia Plath was an American poet and novelist. Her best known works are her collections of poems The Colossus, Ariel, and her novel The Bell Jar. Plath committed suicide a month after the novel was published. In 1982 she won the posthumous Pulitzer Prize for her Complete Poems.
